Beach Rehab/NatureMD in Live OC Magazine

It's not a miracle, its the power of nature! Click the image above for details!

Beach Rehab Center in Huntington Beach is not just an ordinary health and wellness center. They offer individualized patient care, focusing on personal attention to make you feel like a person rather than a symptom. CEO and owner Polly McCormick, who studied at the University of Florida School of Medicine, demonstrates a sensitivity to critical care patients while integrating both Eastern and Western techniques in her treatment protocols.

The services offered by Beach Rehab center seem unlimited. Some of the more popular services are Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Sports Massage and even a Pregnancy Massage. There are also several procedures that set Beach Rehab Center apart such as CranioSacral Therapy, a bodywork method that focuses on gently stimulating the CranioSacral system (membranes and fluid that surround the brain and spinal cord) to heal the body by improving the functioning of the central nervous system. Another unusual procedure, Spinal Decompression, applies steady, gentle distraction to an affected vertebrae, increasing the space between them, which takes pressure off the discs, bone structures and nerves in the area, allowing increased blood flow and promoting healing.

A most unique factor about Beach Rehab Center is their exclusive use of a technology known as NatureMD. NatureMD is a range of topical patches that release active, concentrated natural ingredients over a 24hour period. This means no opening bottles, no swallowing large pills, no digestive problems, just a continual, easily assimilated release of beneficial ingredients from a patch, worn anywhere on the skin.

Resveratrol: Anti-Oxidant Powerhouse

Watch CBS News Videos Online
Following reports on 60 Minutes and in the New York Times, everyone is asking the same question: What exactly is resveratrol? Is it really the new red wine wonder drug or just a passing fad? Is resvertrol the best anti-aging product available today? As the New York Times wrote, “Researchers at the Harvard Medical School and the National Institute of Aging report that a natural substance found in red wine, know as resveratrol, offsets the bad effects of a high-calorie diet, and significantly extends your lifespan.”

For years, scientists were trying to find out what was responsible for the great heart disease statistics of the French. After all, their diets were often much worse than the diets in other countries. They often smoked, drank a lot of coffee, ate a lot of pastries and generally consumed a diet very high in fat. But what else did they do and much more so than other countries, perhaps excluding certain Mediterranean countries? They drank a lot of dark red wine. Did the benefits of drinking red wine lead to this medical paradox? The initial results of trials and testing would suggest this to be the case. A key ingredient in red wine, resveratrol might be the secret ingredient behind healthy hearts. Resveratrol is also found in Japanese Knotweed, Blueberries and Pomegranates. Research has uncovered a diverse range of activities that could make resveratrol into one of the most useful agents ever discovered for human health problems.

When taken as a supplement, resveratrol lowers blood sugar levels and bolsters the immune system. Its antioxidant nature protects the body’s cells, as well as its nervous and cardiovascular systems. Resveratrol may be of particular benefit to those who are recovering from illness, or have a compromised immune system. It’s also extremely beneficial to those of us who are completely healthy- it boosts the metabolism, which may aid in weight loss.

The greatest promise of resveratrol, though, may be as a cancer preventative. A National Institutes of Health survey showed convincing evidence of resveratrol’s effects against the disease. As CNN reported, “An antioxidant found in red wine and grapes known as resveratrol, already thought to help keep the heart healthy and ward off cancer, may also turn out to be a fat fighter, according to new research.”

Resveratrol also can improve cardiovascular performance in healthy people. Many sports nutritionists recommend it to athletes who are recovering from a long period of strenuous activity. Resveratrol protects blood vessels, and prevents the harmful effects of free radicals. By helping the body operate more efficiently, Resveratrol improves overall health. An integral part of a healthy lifestyle, it has become the central reason why red wine is promoted as part of a balanced diet. Resveratrol is a bacterial growth inhibitor and might be the key to activateing the so-called “longevity” gene. As WebMD reported, “Scientists at Harvard Medical School and elsewhere are studying a compound called resveratrol found in grapes, wine and nuts. At high doses, it appears to prolong life span and improve health.”
